15 February 2007: The Property Tax reappraisal figures have been posted on-line for each EV property. To check these on the Internet: In your Browser enter: http://www.nhcgov.com/Pages/NHC.aspx or click here The good news is that while EV appraised values are typically up 75 to 80% (if your last reappraisal was 1999) the County as a whole is reportedly up 81% - AND if the County Commissioners hold to their pledge to have a "revenue neutral budget" most properties in EV will NOT have a tax increase - at least not this year!. See the County website pages to file a protest about your reappraisal value. |

All homeowners are encouraged to attend meetings and keep informed about board actions that affect EV. (revised 5/16) | ||

| 27 October 2005: Attendance at the Homeowners Annual Homeowners' Meeting was strong with about 80% of the owners represented.in person or by proxy. An overwhelming majority recognized the need for a dues increase and voted in favor of setting the dues for 2006 at $125 per month. | 17 September 2004: Pool Keys: Due to the worrisome number of duplicate keys being issued the Board voted to increase the key refundable deposit henceforth to $25.00. | 16 September 2004: Due to a clerical error at CAMS, all Homeowners were sent a letter that implied painting of their home is scheduled this year. No flooding threats were noted. Four small trees were downed - three fell across driveways! One fence section of fence was laid flat (three panels) - the two failed posts appeared to be weakened/softened by age at ground level. A significant turnout of volunteers appeared on our streets immediately following the storm to participate in clearing streets and driveways - Special thanks to all those who turned out! And Sue and Kathy, the "Landscape Committee" expedited the debris pick up - so, unlike our other nearby neighborhoods, virtually all debris stacked at curbside was removed promptly. | 12 June 2003: The Board has appointed Kathy Wenzel to the Board to fill the final 5 months in the slot vacated by Doug Gilstrap. Thank you Kathy for helping EV! | ||
| 16 May 2003: We have a clarification Letter from Waste Management regarding their service. See Letter. | ||
| 9 May 2003: Doug Gilstrap has resigned from the Board, due to the press of other commitments... His leadership as our president will be missed.... This likely means the Board will be looking to fill the Board vacancy (for the balance of his term, until Oct. 2003). | ||

9 May 2003: Do be careful when you go out to
do yard work... or to enjoy the patio... You may have an unexpected and
unwelcome visitor!
This particular one, a copperhead we believe, was on the Plunkett's patio. It and its friend will NOT be visiting elsewhere... |
||
| 6 May 2003: The non-Bell phone books got dumped
at the mail boxes yesterday, in unsealed plastic bags. Due to the severe
impending rain forecast for today the remaining ones have been picked up,
figuring that residents presently here picked up theirs after the mail ran
yesterday, if indeed they wanted one. Several will be put in the Clubhouse
'Library' in case you hear of anyone wanting one. |

| 3 May 2003: The Garden tour was a grand success. A dozen homeowners opened their private yards for their neighbors to see their creativity and the results of their hard work: lovely gardens. Each as individual as their owners! Those who took advantage of this opportunity found the fellowship to be as wonderful as the gardens. Photo Tour |

| 15 April 2003: Come on in, the water's fine! The Pool is open for the season! | ||
| 1 April 2003: SPECIAL EVENT: There will be an Ice Cream Social honoring Del & Flora Myers. Monday, April 7th, in the Clubhouse, 7:30 PM Del & Flora are moving out of EV. This event sponsored by our Social Committee... no charge, no need to bring anything... just bring yourselves. | ||
| 24 February 2003: Blue Flags posted on the street corners! This is the notice that you are requested to water your front lawn (for about one-half hour) . In the current case, because the pre-emergent weed control has been applied - that's those tiny yellow pellets you might see on your lawn. ALSO, operate your front irrigation system NOW in any case to check for proper operation and possible leaks. | ||
| 12 February 2003: Red Flags posted on the street corners!! As per the notice that was put at each door, this means the shrubs have been sprayed: DO NOT water your yard for a couple of days (not a problem this time of year!) and avoid exposure of your pets or children to front yards.... The spray used will be absorbed by the plants and be distributed to all parts of the plants and will not be a problem of exposure after a couple of days. |

| 23 January 2003: SNOW!! Our once per year (maximum I hope) snow storm... pictures posted in the Photo Album. | ||
| 18 January 2003: COLD WEATHER means potential for frozen pipes! Especially vulnerable are your sprinkler system anti-siphon valves (those mysterious pipes that are visible near your sprinkler cut off). Protect these from freezing by insulating the pipe with the snap-on insulation available from Home depot. AND this is a good time to review: Do you know where your main water shut off valve is? (Clue: it is in the pit with your water meter.) Do have a wrench to operate it? | ||
| 13 January 2003: FOUND: a pair of nice gloves, at the Clubhouse. These have been put on a table in the clubhouse awaiting a claimant with cold hands! | ||
